i am a composer and filmmaker living in albuquerque, nm with my two partners, dogs and cat. i create immersive music through psychedelic electronic soundscapes, dissonant post-rock, noise, field recordings, traditional instrumentation, and film in the hope of inspiring people to more deeply explore their own emotions about the world around them and to reflect on what they believe.
About Emotion Simulation
history
emotion simulation was originally started as a form of self-therapy. i would write a song about a feeling that affected me, whether that was boredom, anger, or happiness and try to describe how that felt in a musical form. my music, like therapy, is designed to provide a space for the listener to explore their feelings in a private, intimate manner.
mission
in these songs, film, and images, i hope you can not only experience how i feel about a subject, but, more importantly, reflect on how YOU feel. i think that we seldom stop to think about our emotional makeup, and how that affects our every-day life. these questions of emotion are what really drives our behavior, and we are fools if we think we can run from our emotions forever.
future
no matter what the future may hold for you, i believe we are our best selves when we embrace our inner emotional world, and express it to others. suppressing how we feel only leads to a spiral in on ourselves into darkness. no one is above their emotions, and we need to decide how we feel about ourselves before those feelings destroy us.
